UCLA plays Saturdays, but the school has some former players who take the field on Sundays. Here’s a weekly blog featuring former Bruins and what they did in their NFL games:

Akeem Ayers, fourth-year linebacker for the Tennessee Titans: Ayers has played in just two games this season, and was a healthy scratch on Sunday. The Titans lost to Washington, 19-17.

Anthony Barr, rookie linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings: Statistically, Barr had one of the best games of his career in a 17-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He was second on the team with 10 tackles, and also recorded a tackle for loss and a pass defended. It was the first double-digit tackle total of his career.

Nate Chandler, third-year offensive tackle for the Carolina Panthers: The Panthers were blown out by the Green Bay Packers, 38-17, and Chandler had another rough game as the starting right tackle.

Derrick Coleman, third-year fullback for the Seattle Seahawks: Coleman didn’t record any stats in the Seahawks’ 28-26 loss to the St. Louis Rams.

Joseph Fauria, second-year tight end for the Detroit Lions: Fauria has played in just three games this season after he injured his ankle trying to get his dog to stop peeing in the house. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Fauria was held out of the Lions’ 24-23 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Kai Forbath, third-year kicker for Washington: After struggling a bit to begin the season, Forbath seems to have righted the ship. He made all four of his field goal attempts, as well as a PAT, in Washington’s 19-17 win over the Titans.

Cory Harkey, third-year tight end for the St. Louis Rams: Harkey caught one pass for nine yards in the Rams’ 28-26 win over the Seahawks.

Mike Harris, third-year offensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings had several injuries to their offensive line in their 17-16 loss to the Bills, so Harris got some playing time at right guard.

Datone Jones, second-year defensive end for the Green Bay Packers: Jones was inactive due to an ankle injury in the Packers’ 38-17 win over the Panthers.

Maurice Jones-Drew, ninth-year running back for the Oakland Raiders: The Raiders lost again on Sunday, this time a 24-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Despite the team being the last remaining NFL squad to not win a game, Jones-Drew continues to be an afterthought. He ran the ball three times for just six yards in the loss, bringing his season totals to 15 carries for 42 yards and no touchdowns.

Marcedes Lewis, ninth-year tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars: Lewis was placed on the Jaguars’ injured reserve/designated to return list four weeks ago with an ankle injury, so he didn’t play in Jacksonville’s 24-6 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Jeff Locke, second-year punter for the Minnesota Vikings: Locke had another good game, punting the ball six times and averaging a whopping 47.3 yards per punt in the Vikings’ 17-16 loss to the Bills.

Cassius Marsh, rookie defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks: Marsh was placed on injured reserve this week after breaking his foot in practice. The move ended his season.

Rahim Moore, fourth-year free safety for the Denver Broncos: The Broncos rolled on Sunday Night Football, beating the San Francisco 49ers 42-17. Moore had two tackles on the night.

Logan Paulsen, fifth-year tight end for Washington: Paulsen got playing time but didn’t record any stats in Washington’s 19-17 win over the Titans.

Matthew Slater, seventh-year wide receiver for the New England Patriots: Slater, the Patriots special teams ace, didn’t record any stats in their 27-25 win over the New York Jets on Thursday night.

Xavier Su’a-Filo, rookie offensive guard for the Houston Texans: Su’a-Filo and the Texans play the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight on Monday Night Football.

Alterraun Verner, fifth-year cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Bucs had a bye this week.

Christian Yount, fourth-year center/long-snapper for the Cleveland Browns: Yount didn’t seem to have any negative snaps in the Browns’ 24-6 loss to the Jaguars, but was also called for a holding penalty on a punt.
