Coachella 2015: Terrine, Pot and Eggslut head to the desert

Share

If you’re headed to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year, don’t expect to have to “rough it” with your dining options.

Some of Los Angeles’ hottest restaurants are heading to the desert for two weekends in April, making sure the more than 90,000 expected concert-goers can eat as well as any Angeleno on any given Tuesday.

New this year are a series of sit-down dinners with prix-fixe menus in the main VIP area from Terrine, Pot, Gadarene Swine and Scratch Bar. The dinners are $50 per person and reservations can be made in advance through the Reserve app, a digital concierge service. Reservations can also be made at the festival in the VIP area.

Outstanding in the Field, the pop-up dinner crew frequently found creating elaborate dinners in sea caves and on rooftop gardens, will return to the festival for 12 dinners in the Rose Garden VIP area. The same group hosted a series of dinners on both of last year’s festival weekends featuring food from Los Angeles chefs, including Steve Samson (Sotto), Casey Lane (the Tasting Kitchen) and Greg A. Daniels.

This year, there will be two seatings during each night of the festival, with each dinner priced at $225 per person.

Dinners include a four-course meal with a welcome cocktail, beer and wine. Chefs include Michael Beckman (Palm Springs’ Workshop Kitchen + Bar) and Jamie DeRosa (Tongue & Cheek in Miami) on April 10, Alex Reznik (Ditmas Kitchen) and Vartan Abgaryan (Cliff’s Edge) on April 11, Ricardo Zarate (formerly at Picca) and Tin Vuong (Steak and Whisky) on April 12, Bruce Kalman (Union) and James Trees (Hutchinson Cocktails & Grill) on April 17, Steven Fretz (Church Key) and David Varley (RN74) on April 18 and Steve Samson (Sotto) and Nicole Rucker (formerly at Gjelina and Gjusta) on April 19. Tickets can be purchased at coachella.com

Also available in the Rose Garden VIP area are Kazunori, Eggslut, Ramen Champ, Beefsteak, Status Kuo, Kind Kreme, Las Perlas, Cana Rum Bar, Coles’ and Tony’s Saloon.

And if you’re headed to the main VIP area, expect Mexicali Taco & Co., Church Key, Dante Fried Chicken, Phorage, Afters Ice Cream, Sage Vegan Bistro, Juice Served Here and Verve Coffee Bar.

If you don’t happen to have a VIP wristband, you’ll still be able to treat yourself to Beer Belly, 800 Degrees, Eureka!, Top Round Roast Beef, Kushiyaki Dog and Sage Pretzels in the Terrace and 21 plus beer barn. In the Terrace area with the yurts, Verve Coffee Bar, Juice Served Here, Sweet Clementine’s Pops, Three Jerks Jerky, Bond Bar, DRIPP, Chocolatier Eve, This Bar Saves Lives, Milk Jar Cookies and Granola Mama will all be available.
