WrestleMania live results: Brock Lesnar loses title to... Seth Rollins

In an amazing main event, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase near the end of the Brock Lesnar-Roman Reigns match to win the WWE title. Lesnar dominated the early part of the match, suplexing Reigns all over the place, before Reigns sent Lesnar head first into the ring post. Lesnar started bleeding (it appeared to be hardway) profusely from the forehead and Reigns capitalized, hitting three Superman punches and a spear, but Lesnar kicked out. Lesnar turned another spear into an F5, but both men were exhausted. Rollins ran down, cashed in and tried to curb stomp Lesnar, but Lesnar got him up in an F5. Reigns speared Lesnar, Rollins rolled Lesnar out of the ring and curb stomped Reigns and pinned him for the title. The crowd seemed OK with this. They would not have been OK with Reigns winning, as he was booed whenever he had the upper hand.

The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt

The Undertaker did his normal ring entrance, with a poor technician (maybe an ex-technician now?) walking into the shot just before Undertaker came out. Taker’s entrance is much more impressive in darkness than in sunlight. There were scarecrows lining the entrance when Bray Wyatt came out, and they came to life as he passed them and escorted him to the ring. Rumor had it that Wyatt badly sprained his ankle earlier Sunday, but he showed no ill effects. Wyatt kicked out of a Tombstone and Undertaker kicked out of Sister Abigail. Wyatt was pinned after Undertaker reversed a Sister Abigail into a Tombstone. Not the best Undertaker match ever, but it was great to see him again and see him back in the win column.

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H were in the ring to announce the attendance, a Levi’s Stadium record 76,976. Stephanie said it was all due to her and that she owns the ring, the fans, the wrestlers, everyone. That brought The Rock, who soaked up five minutes of chants before saying a word. He ran down Stephanie, who slapped him and dared him to hit a woman. She ordered him out of the ring, and he complied, but walked to ringside to where Ronda Rousey was sitting. He escorted Rousey into the ring. Stephanie badmouthed Rousey. HHH intervened and told Rock to shut up. Rock punched HHH, who was then judo flipped out of the ring by Rousey, who then put Stephanie in a standup armbar and threw her from the ring. One of the great WrestleMania moments of all time.

John Cena vs. Rusev for the U.S. title

Rusev had an amazing ring entrance, with Russian cannons going off on the stage as the Russian national anthem played. Rusev came in on a Russian tank. Lana was there. Cena broke out of the Accolade. Lana jumped up on ringside and distracted the ref. Cena went over to confront her, and Rusev charged at him. Cena moved and Rusev crashed in to Lana, sending her flying. Cena then hit the AA on Rusev and got the pin. Rusev yelled at Lana afterward, an apparent break up of the two, which is a shame, because they were great together.

AJ Lee and Paige vs. The Bella Twins

AJ Lee and Paige won when Lee made Nikki submit to the Black Widow. The crowd treated it as intermission, heading for the concession stands during the match. That is a shame, because the Bellas are two of the most improved performers around, and AJ Lee and Paige may be the two best women on the roster (though Natalya may slap me for that).

Triple H vs. Sting

A “This is Awesome” chant filled the stadium before Sting and HHH locked up. Sting hit a dropkick and a “You Still Got It” chant started. Sting dominated the early part of the match until he missed a Stinger Splash attempt outside of the ring and crashed into the barricade. Triple H threw into the ring steps, then suplexed him in the ring. HHH hit a spinebuster but Sting kicked out at two. Sting made his comeback and had HHH in the Scorpion Deathlock. Three members of HHH’s old group, DX, came out (Billy Gunn, Road Dogg and X-Pac) and handed Triple H the sledgehammer. Then, the NWO music hit, and Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall came out and handed Sting his bat. DX and the NWO fought while Sting and HHH battled in the ring. HHH hit a Pedigree, Sting kicked out. Sting hit the Scorpion Deathdrop, HHH kicked out. Sting locked in the Scorpion Deathlock, but Shawn Michaels hit the ring and superkicked him. Triple H covered, but Sting kicked out at two. The match finally ended when Sting went for a Stinger Splash and HHH caught him with the sledgehammer. After the match, HHH went over and shook Sting’s hand in a show of respect. Will this be Sting’s last match? He still has something left in the tank, so I hope not.

Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins

Randy Orton got his ultimate revenge and defeated Seth Rollins after reversing a curb stomp attempt into an RKO. The match was back and forth, with each man kicking out of the other man’s finisher. As Orton was bent over in the ring, Rollins went for the curb stomp, but when Orton felt Rollins’ foot, he lifted up, sending Rollins high into the air, and Orton caught him in the RKO on the way down and pinned him. Too bad this feud cooled off about two weeks to early, or that would be a spot people would talk about for a while. With his loss, it makes it more likely that Rollins will cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and walk out with the title on whoever wins the Brock Lesnar-Roman Reigns match. Sting vs. HHH is up next.

INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE LADDER MATCH

A wild, entertaining Intercontinental title ladder match ended with Daniel Bryan leading the 70,000 in attendance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in “Yes” chants after winning the title. Two craziest spots: Stardust climbed one side of a ladder and Bad News Barrett the other side. Barrett then superplexed Stardust off the ladder. Later, Luke Harper powerbombed Dean Ambrose out of the ring and through a ladder that was spanning the ring and the ringside barricade. Ambrose seemed to be hurt, as doctors rushed to his side. It appeared that he cut open the back of his head.

Match ended with Bryan and Dolph Ziggler atop a ladder trading head butts. Bryan got the best of it and pulled the IC title down for the victory.

ANDRE THE GIANT MEMORIAL BATTLE ROYAL

The final three in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal were Big Show, Miz and Mizdow. Miz told Mizdow to join him in teaming up against Big Show, but, after all these weeks of abuse, Mizdow finally had enough and turned on Miz, throwing him over the top rope to the delight of the crowd. The crowd was then solidly behind Mizdow winning, but despite several hope spots, Big Show tossed him over for the victory. Winner: The Big Show.

TYSON KIDD and CESARO vs. NEW DAY vs. LOS MATADORES vs. USOS for the TAG TEAM TITLE

Jey Uso’s shoulder must not have healed yet, because he was thrown into the barricade by Cesaro and taken to the back before the match started. After a lot of back and forth action featuring some creative double, triple and quadruple teams, Jimmy Uso did a splash on Big E Langston, but Cesaro had tagged Uso just before the dive, making him the legal man. Cesaro then threw Uso out of the ring and covered Big E for the win. Winner: Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, retaining the championship.
