UNLVino takes over Las Vegas in April with champagnes, sakes and wines

Wine, sake and champagne get their due during UNLVino, the 40-year-old festival that helps out students at UNLV’s William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration.

The three-night festival, which includes events dubbed Bubble-Licious, Sake Fever and the Grand Tasting, will take over Las Vegas April 16-18.

The event kicks off with Bubble-Licious at the Venetian on Thursday, April 16, with a focus on champagnes and sparkling wines. The Venetian and Palazzo’s restaurants provide the small plates, and James Beard Award-winning chef Daniel Boulud is honored with the Dom Pérignon Award of Excellence. Tickets are $125 in advance, $150 at the door.

Head off the Strip to Red Rock Resort for Sake Fever on Friday, April 17. Franks & Deans, the world’s first rock ‘n’ roll Rat Pack tribute band, entertains guests around the resort’s pool. Sakes, Japanese spirits and cocktails are on the agenda. Tickets are $100 in advance, $125 at the door.

The event wraps up with the Grand Tasting at Paris Las Vegas on Saturday, April 18. Modern jazz musician Frankie Moreno entertains guests who dine on dishes from UNLV’s culinary students. Chef Steve Martorano will be honored as well. Tickets are $125 in advance, $150 at the door.
