DWIGHT A. PENBERTH
D.O.B.: 11/19/49
Education: Panther Valley High School, Diploma; Lehigh County Community College, Associate - Business Administration; Stevens Trade School, Certificate - Brick Masonry
Occupation: Owner/Operator Dwight A. Penberth Builder & Mason, 25 years
Qualifications: I am the only candidate with a degree – more importantly the degree is in business administration – having owned & operated my own business for 25 yrs. has given me a broad expanse in the area of checks & balances.
Response to question: Now, more than ever, the Carbon County Treasurer’s Office needs to have a watchdog, with a strong business background, to keep a sharp eye on the financial goings on of the county. The office is far too important & must be carefully managed.
DEMOCRAT
RONALD J. SHEEHAN
D.O.B.: 4/22/65
Education: Jim Thorpe Area High School graduate
Occupation: Nine years in the banking industry working for both Mauch Chunk Trust and later taking an officer’s position with Jim Thorpe National Bank. Since June 1992 I have been employed as the accountant/fiscal deputy for the Carbon County Controller’s office.
Qualifications: My work experience in the banking industry and county government give me the qualifications to be an effective county treasurer. The eight years on Jim Thorpe Borough council and the many civic positions I held affirm my commitment and dedication to the community.
Response to question: I have always tried to be an active participant in the community that I live in and when you consider my work experience and my civic leadership, county treasurer would be the next logical level for me to contribute my time and talents for the betterment of the community.
