Keeping community in mind

Philosopher John Donne said it best: "No man is an island." This means we all need a sense of community to live a full life. And that isn't just philosophical mumbo-jumbo. Studies have shown that people who have connections with others through community-based groups live longer.
The Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem celebrated its bicentennial in 2006, though the site dates to 1742 when the Moravian settlers from Germany formed its first congregation. Today, the church is still a central landmark in Bethlehem with a growing congregation and members who are committed to preserving historic tradition and meeting the needs of contemporary society.
There are countless ways for you to make new connections, learn new skills and meet new friends. Your mind and body will thank you for the sense of self-worth provided through group activities. Here is a list of community groups and organizations in the Greater Lehigh Valley that you can contact to improve your social life, improve your neighborhood or even improve your overall health.
