4. Jair Jurrjens, pitcher

The Orioles liked Jurrjens so much a year ago, they considered trading for him but balked when the Atlanta Braves asked for Adam Jones. Jurrjens has since had a disappointing 2012 season and knee surgery, which is why he came to the Orioles on a minor-league deal. The reclamation project pitched well in his first start for Triple-A Norfolk last weekend and could be called up should a major-league starter falter.
