1974 American League Championship Series: Game 3

Starting pitcher Jim Palmer, shown here at spring training in 1969, tossed a complete game, but the Orioles lost, 1-0 in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Oct. 8, 1974. Oakland Athletics third baseman Sal Bando hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning at Memorial Stadium, putting the Orioles in a 2-1 deficit in a series they would eventually lose on the next day.
