Ravens pass defense vs. 49ers passing game

In the playoffs, the Ravens have rattled Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, forcing the trio into seven total turnovers. The improved health of Suggs and Haloti Ngata has been a factor. The Ravens have also cleaned up the communication issues that dogged them for much of the season and their tackling has improved. That will have to continue because San Francisco is loaded with speed and power on offense. Ravens safety Ed Reed has been quiet in the playoffs, but look for him to try and bait young quarterback Colin Kaepernick. It's his first Super Bowl and Reed loves the big stage. Much of the focus has been on quarterback Colin Kaepernick's legs, but he's done plenty of damage with his arm in the playoffs. He's completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 496 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while being sacked only twice in two games. In nine games with Kaepernick under center, wide receiver Michael Crabtree has 56 catches for 771 yards and seven touchdowns. Former Maryland standout Vernon Davis could be in line for a big day as the Ravens have struggled all year to cover tight ends. Edge: 49ers
