If there's one particular event that could be considered a top tier, all-star, A+ moment for Baltimore sports in 2012, it would be pretty much the entire 24-hour period of Sept. 6, the 17th anniversary of Cal Ripken Jr.'s Iron Man Record. Completely sold out Camden Yards? Check. Fans arriving hours in advance to catch a glimpse of the bronze Ripken? Check. A bevvy of Orioles legends in attendance to witness the latter day team shellac the Yankees 10-6? Oh yes. The pageantry, the tear-inducing speeches -- it was a legendary evening.
