The National Cathedral hosted the annual Pancake Races dubbed the "Shake, Rattle & Race," because of the earthquake damage done to the Cathedral. The races are a celebration of the British tradition of "Pancake Day" as Mardi Gras is known there, to mark the last day before the beginning of Lent.
