Changes in attitudes, changes in latitudes: Clearly, the Orioles are trying to be buyers at the July 31 deadline for making trades without passing players through waivers, which -- in itself -- is a refreshing change after their interminable string of early exits from contention. There were even rumors of a possible deal for Florida Marlins star Hanley Ramirez before he was dealt to the Dodgers. Give Dan Duquette (pictured) credit for trying to be aggressive. Give him even more credit if he can reel in a significant player at the deadline without giving up one of the club's top three prospects.
