Beach House, the Baltimore dream-pop duo of Alex Scally and Victoria Legrand, have finally announced its first hometown show since Sept. 11, 2010. (You could argue it wasn't even a "hometown" show, as the group was opening for Vampire Weekend at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia.)
Using Twitter to announce the news, Beach House said Tuesday it will play the Patricia and Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric on April 26, nearly a year after the release of its fourth album, "Bloom."
Lower Dens, the Baltimore indie-rock band led by Jana Hunter, will also perform. A "very special guest" is still to be announced. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon. Tickets will be available on ticketmaster.com.
The closest Beach House's most recent tour came to Baltimore was Washington's 9:30 Club, where Scally and Legrand played to a sold-out crowd. You can read Sam Sessa's review of the show here.
