Beetroot juice

It's not that bizarre in and of itself: studies have shown that beetroot juice can improve an athlete's performance. What's bizarre is how. Apparently, that deep red color can find its way into an athlete¿s, uh, waste products. As one physiologist told Fox News: "You're going to pee purple, you're going to poo purple." Is that good placebo effect, or what?
