4. "Damsels in Distress" Whit Stillman's first movie in 14 years and his best yet, turns the follies and misguided perceptions of youth into a hilariously bent social comedy of developing identity. Some guys don't know colors; some girls prefer doofuses (or doofi, the plural, Stillman indicates). Throughout, the impeccable cast, particularly Greta Gerwig and Carrie MacLemore, convincingly emphasize the power of a dance craze and twisted theories that, from the right angle, look almost like knowledge.
