Dick Clark Youthful, energetic and influential, Clark was a TV presence for more than 50 years -- and we grew expecting him to be there for another 50 to help us ring in the New Year. And he will be this year. ABC will honor the cultural icon with a two-hour appreciation airing, fittingly, hours before the ball drops on Dec. 31. Clark died April 18 from a heart attack. He was 82.
