For Maria Satyshur, 22, both a limited budget and a sense of individuality have helped form a personal style that's "classic with a vintage influence." "I like to shop at thrift stores because they have vintage pieces that you can make your own," said the DLR Marketing marketing coordinator and aspiring opera singer. That's where she found most of the outfit she was wearing out to dinner at BRIO Tuscan Grille. That included the belted brown H&M shirt dress, brown mid-calf boots and gray pleather handbag. Her cut glass pendant was a gift, as was the patterned pashmina, which a friend brought back from Pakistan. Then there were her mustard yellow tights from American Apparel. "That's my funky thing," she said. She says she has quite a collection of tights in fun colors and patterns, which she wears all fall and winter to add that funky touch to her outfits.
