As executive director/vice president of the American Heart Association greater Baltimore region, Yvette Mingo went shopping for a dress to fit her organization's red-themed Baltimore Heart Ball at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. "I tried on a red dress, and a woman said, that's really, really sexy." While the 40-something downtown Baltimore resident loves a style that's "comfortable, slightly sexy, but appropriate," she thought that reaction wasn't the one she wanted at the party. What did fit the bill was this metallic graphite silk shantung NV gown that featured a front placket decorated with beading and matte sequins that she found on sale at Nordstrom. "I felt it was classic, but different. And appropriate." Mingo added a shimmery champagne wrap and some gray suede Via Spiga peep-toe Mary Jane stilettos -- both of which also came from Nordstrom. She found her gray rosette clutch at a boutique in Charlotte, North Carolina. As for the requisite red, it appeared in the form of the AHA's red crystal covered "Go Red For Women" pin that she used to fasten her wrap together as well as her red Swarovski crystal bangle with heart charm, which was a gift.
