When it came to her outfit for the red-themed Baltimore Heart Ball at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, Chris White, 63, knew exactly where to begin -- with her red crystal covered puffed heart pendant mounted on a swirled neckwire (she's had it for a few years). "I wanted something relatively dressy and something to show off the red of the heart," says the Johns Hopkins Medicine assistant dean for medicine. To fit her "traditional" style, White went with a white taffeta Samuel Day blouse with wired stand-up ruffles that she found in a boutique in Sourthern Pines, North Carolina and a black taffeta tiered-panel K.M. Collections long skirt from Loehmann's. The finishing touches for this Lutherville resident include black velvet flats from Talbots, diamond and white gold hoop earrings from Nelson Coleman and a black satin evening bag from a store in Pennsylvania.
