Glimpsed at Rocket to Venus: Laurel Howard

How do you combine trends when your lifestyle is spent mostly outdoors? Check out Laurel Howard's fashion sense. The 24-year-old medical screener for Outward Bound Baltimore/Chesapeake Bay was having drinks with colleagues at Rocket to Venus in a layered look: a white cotton scoopneck Mossimo T-shirt from Target under a gray and white gingham seersucker shirt from Old Navy under a forest green cotton Merona cardigan from Target, with a pair of black skinny zip-ankle jeans from Gap. The Better Waverly resident got her dark brown leather belt at Pac Sun when she was 18, and the brass buckle with a bi-plane graphic on it at a Frederick store was she was 19. A friend got the copper bangle for her in Zambia when the friend was studying abroad in South Africa. Her beige canvas desert boots came from the Vans outlet. She added a butterfly wing pendant made "by a girl I went to school with," which she hung on a triple beaded necklace she made herself. The taupe leather shoulder bag was a Goodwill find.
