With temperatures soaring above 100 degrees, Emilie Blaze opted for a cooler summer ensemble when heading to work. "I was originally going to wear white pants, but they were too heavy," said the co-owner of The Little Shoebox in Ruxton. Instead, Blaze wore a pair of navy shorts from Banana Republic. She paired them with a lightweight white blouse, also from Banana Republic. Her Bettye Mueller "Martini" wedges were eye-catching. So were her dangling earrings and orange patent-leather Michael Kors purse, which she purchased at her boutique, which she co-owns with Janie Griffin. "I'm classic with a twist or edge," the 47-year-old Ruxton resident said. "The key to great style is to wear clothes that fit you. Wear clothes that reflect your personality. Add a contemporary twist that reflects the trend."
