Among the creative looks at the reception after the announcement of this year's winner of the Sondheim Artscape Prize at the Baltimore Museum of Art: Hanna Owens, 23, in a summer dress that's cool in more ways than one. The navy and white polyester Hot & Delicious frock from Bare Feet Shoes featured balloon ruching on the sides of the skirt, and a series of straps and an exposed zipper in the back. She balanced the dress's visual interest in the back with a little more in the front, courtesy a gold necklace made in India that she found on eBay. Owens added a pair of nude Qupid multi-strap wedges she also found online. The artist and recent Towson University graduate in art and French says she often looks to the past for ideas on how to dress in the present. Her fashion is "usually '40s and '50s inspired, although that's not reflected tonight." One of her favorite styling tricks? "I've spent time in Senegal and Western Europe, so I like to mix some ethnic pieces I got there with something trendy."
