Marissa Baptist, 24, started from the ground up when it came to the outfit she wore to the "Once Upon A Runway" fundraiser at the American Visionary Art Museum. "I actually bought the shoes first, then hoped to find a dress to match," says the ARAMARK conference planner, referring to the tobacco suede Michael Kors pumps she found on "triple clearance" at Marshalls. Sure enough, this Washington, D.C., resident did find the dress -- a belted hunter green, magenta and white geometric print Pink Owl number -- at Gossip On 23rd in Crystal City. Then, she added a vintage mother-of-pearl clutch that had been her mother's; something she had found years ago at a flea market. Her gold and mother-of-pearl hoop disc earrings were Francesca's Collections' finds. Baptist describes her style as "conservative." "I feel more comfortable in black, loose-fitting clothes," she said. "But, I decided to step out of my comfort zone [tonight] and go a little bolder."
