Sure, those hot pink Hue tights provide a great pop of color to Tammy HaQuang's outfit. But they have a dual purpose for this 34-year-old Hoes Heights resident. While she's at work as an architect at Hord Coplan Macht, those tights provide "bumps and bruise coverage" that come from her alternate personality as "Tamurai Sword," a member of the Night Terrors team in the Charm City Roller Girls roller derby league. "That's not my main concern [for wearing or buying something.] My main concern is if I like what it is and it's fun. But you have to be careful in the corporate world. So, I'm always on the lookout for good cardigans and tights." Here's HaQuang looking "roller girl chic" at her day job with a graphite cotton Jackie cardigan and skinny black patent leather belt from J. Crew over a black and white striped jersey Lewis Cho dress she bought at a trunk show in New York City's Chelsea Market. At the end of her fuchsia tights are a pair of blue-gray MIZ Mooz slingback Mary Janes from Ma Petite Shoe. She added more splashes of color with her goldenrod bag from the Kate Spade outlet and her orange Casio watch, which was a gift.
