The Broadneck graduate made seven saves in the first half and finished with nine as the No. 1 Terps won their fifth straight Atlantic Coast Conference championship, 12-8, at No. 3 North Carolina on Sunday. Howard's early saves helped the Terps build a 6-3 halftime lead, which they extended to 12-4. She also had a pair of stops in the Terps¿ 13-9 win over Virginia in the semifinal. Howard, who has started all 19 games this season, has an 8.39 goals-against average and a .436 save percentage.
