James A. Eickhoff, O.D., of Eickhoff and Rowe is pictured in his doctor's office. The screen behind him is part of a Fundus camera which takes pictures of the eyes and reveals any changes including leaking of blood or fluid. Dr. Eickhoff is holding a model of a cross-section of the eye. The orange interior shows the retina with blood vessels that lie directlly on the retina and supply nourishment (also on the screen). Eye doctors are becoming the early detectors of diseases like diabetes and hypertension. By examining the blood vessels of the eye, the doctors can spot these conditions.
