Post surgery

Marc Burleson, 31, of Odessa, TX, is recovering at Johns Hopkins Hospital from surgery to burn the nerves in his spine to stop excruciating pain in his left arm after a brachioplexis injury. His grandparents, Dan and Betty Burleson of Lake Whitney, Texas, are keeping him company after his surgery. Burleson, a Marine, almost lost his life after severe injuries from an IED in Afghanistan that detonated as he was kneeling next to it on Dec. 9, 2011. His left hand is paralyzed, part of his right arm has been amputated, and he has had facial reconstruction surgery.
