10. Chris LaPierre, Virginia midfielder

The solo captain of the Cavaliers is a ground-ball warrior, averaging 4.2 per contest. LaPierre earns possessions like a rebounder in basketball. He plays with the courage to sacrifice his body for the team, evidenced by his late-game shot block against Princeton in the first round of the 2012 NCAA tournament. The former high school football star is a rugged midfielder who is low-maintenance and high-production.
