Though a lot may depend on the progress of the J.J. Hardy contract negotiations, veteran first baseman Derrek Lee could be very attractive to a contending team that needs an experienced hitter or a Gold Glover to shore up the infield defense. He has pulled out of an early hitting slump, and his ability to scoop balls at first makes everybody else in the infield better. He's also a great presence in the clubhouse and dugout. What's not to like?
