In her junior season, Hannah Oneda faded at the end of the state championship race. As a senior, Oneda left no doubt she was the best runner around. Oneda, of Winters Mill, clocked a time of of 18 minutes, 28.3 seconds at Hereford, breaking the girls state meet record and course record of 18:52 set by Quince Orchard¿s Karen Pulliam in 2000. The Class 2A champion and All-Metro Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year won every race she competed in this fall until a sixth-place finish at the regional Foot Locker race. That run qualified her for the Foot Locker nationals.
