Carmelo Anthony and his wife know what they like when it comes to decorating. And what they like is, in a word, Carmelo Anthony.
Today in a story in the New York Post, the wife of the Baltimore-raised New York Knicks star offered a peek into the family's posh living space.
The piece, headlined "
Anthony dishes on her Hell's Kitchen crib," gushed over the couple's "sprawling, ultra-modern duplex."
La La told the Post that her decorating style is contemporary with an edge and that she loves "lots of color."
She said they found the pad through a real estate agent and settled on it after falling for the "super-high ceilings and ultra-modern feel."
She mentions a red leather Fendi Casa sofa. Her retreat bedroom that's her favorite spot in the house. Her custom-designed closet made by the Container Store.
And then... the best part.
The reporter asked La La if she recently purchased any artwork and what might be her favorite piece.
She says: "This past Christmas, we purchased a huge, modern picture of my husband from the artist Paul Gerben, whose studio is located in
. It was great to be directly in touch with the artist himself, which enabled us to create this fantastic, very large and abstract piece that we love."
Deadspin poked fun of the portrait, saying, "It's not 'abstract'; it's Carmelo Anthony in a tux. Possibly with a centaur body just off-canvas." The website humorists added: "The Anthonys also appear to have commissioned a painting of their young son Kiyan wearing his Captain America pajamas, though no word on where in the house it's hung. Probably stuck in storage until he's old enough to be a narcissist."
Everyone's a critic!
