The Perry Hall High School music department will host a memorial scholarship concert on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m., in honor of school alumnus John DiLutis Jr., a trombonist and Perry Hall graduate who died in 1993 at age 26, shortly after his music career began.
The concert will feature the music of composers Roland Barrett, Guy Forbes, Robert Shelton and Sean O’Loughlin, as well as classic composers, including Paul Whear, W.A. Mozart, Henri Rabaud, and Franz von Suppe.
Performing will be the Perry Hall High School Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds and Symphony Orchestra.
Also performing will be the Baltimore Symphonic Band under the direction of Chris Wolfe, as well as University of Maryland College Park professor and clarinetist Robert DiLutis.
There are no tickets required and donations accepted at the door will be directed to the scholarship fund. The high school is located at 4601 Ebenezer Road.
