Inner Harbor Marshalls expects to open March 21

Discount retailer Marshalls expects to open its planned Inner Harbor store on March 21, a spokeswoman for TJX Cos. Inc. said.

The company signed a lease last year for more than 31,000 square feet at Lockwood Place on East Pratt Street in the former Filene’s Basement spot. The space has been vacant for about a year, since the Filene’s closed as part of the chain’s bankruptcy filing.

Marshalls, known for selling brand-name apparel at a discount, will open on the second floor of the three-story retail center, also home to restaurants P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse and Panera Bread. The TJX Cos. expects to announce more details about the new Marshalls in early March.

Marshalls operates Baltimore-area stores at Towson Marketplace, Snowden Square in Columbia, Annapolis Plaza and the Village at Waugh Chapel.
