The NCAA Division I women's lacrosse championships will return to Towson University in 2014.
Thursday's announcement by NCAA officials comes seven weeks after the 2013 championships were awarded to Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
Johnny Unitas Stadium has hosted three previous Division I women's final four weekends, in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2010, a record-breaking crowd of 9,782 fans watched Maryland defeat Northwestern, 13-11, ending the Wildcats' run of five straight and giving the Terrapins their 11th national title.
For the last two years, the national championships have been held at Stony Brook on Long Island, but Towson officials are thrilled to have the event return to their campus.
