The Columbia Association invites you and your dog to Dog Day Afternoon at Hopewell Park this Saturday, April 27, for a day of music, raffles, demonstrations and seminars, and the chance to meet local business owners who focus on the health, happiness and well-being of pets.
While you’re making the rounds, your dog can make new friends! Plenty of doggy fun has been planned, including contests, off-leash play and treats -- lots of treats.
Events include an Ask the Trainer session, biscuit eating and tail-wagging contests, a dog fashion show, and a best-kisser competition. A complete schedule of events is here.
Don’t forget to bring something to share with less fortunate puppies -- the association is collecting items to be donated to the Thankful Paws Pet Food Bank:
- Canned cat and dog food
- Dry dog and cat food
- Soft treats and biscuit-type treats
- New dog and cat toys
- Kong-type indestructible toys
- Blankets and towels
- Buckle or martingale type collars
- Gift cards from pet stores
Rain date for the event is April 28. Hopewell Park is located at Rustling Leaf and Brush Run in Columbia, and the fun kicks off at 11 a.m. For more information, call 410-423-1821.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
