The Orioles have high hopes that Dylan Bundy will eventually develop into one of the game's best arms, and according to Baseball America, the right-hander is well on his way.

The scouting service ranked Bundy as baseball's No. 1 prospect on its Midseason Top 50 Prospects list. Shortstop Manny Machado is the only other Baltimore prospect claiming a spot, coming in at No. 9. Both have been selected to play in the Futures Game on July 8 as part of the All-Star festivities.

Bundy cruised through his first eight starts with Single-A Delmarva before being promoted to High-A Frederick in late May. To start his professional career, the Tulsa, Okla., native tossed 30 innings, giving up no earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out 40 for the Shorebirds.

In Frederick, the 19-year-old hasn't been as dominant as he was in Delmarva, but his statistics are still promising. He is 4-2 with a 3.58 ERA in seven starts for the Keys.

Machado, who will celebrate his 20th birthday tomorrow, has really come on strong in June and the early part of July for Double-A Bowie. He has reached base safely in his last 10 games, hitting .351 with 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored in that span.

On the season, Machado is batting .266. He leads the Baysox in runs scored, doubles, triples, total bases and is second in RBIs. He has appeared in all but two of Bowie's games this season and his average has increased in each month this year, going from .241 in April to .257 in May before finishing an impressive June batting .286.
