Tuesday featured Dixon's assessment of No. 1 seed Loyola's 17-5 thrashing of Canisius, and Thursday will highlight Maryland's 10-9 upset of No. 7 seed Lehigh. But here is what he thought of Johns Hopkins' win.
What Dixon liked: "Their faceoffs were unbelievable. [Junior Mike] Poppleton just completely dominated the Stony Brook kids [winning 20-of-26 draws]. And the offensive execution for Hopkins was spectacular. Very impressed with [junior midfielder] John Ranagan and his unselfishness. He missed a shot early in the game by about two feet and then he made an adjustment where he took an extra step to his left to give him a bit more of an angle to put that shot far-post, and he hit two goals after making that adjustment."
