After they play the CMJ Music Marathon, some of the acts that have already been labeled buzzbands will be traveling to Baltimore and Washington for shows.

Here are five to look out for:

Class Actress, the stage name of a folk singer (Elizabeth Harper) gone pop recalls not early Madonna, as she would have it, but a narcotized, trippier Roisin Murphy. Get your fix of atmospheric dance at Washington's Rock 'n' Roll Hotel Saturday. Tickets, at $15, are already on sale. New album: "Journal of Ardency."

Jacuzzi Boys, the jokey, smartass Miami punks will be playing the Talking Head Monday while the corrossive Los Angeles rap group Odd Future play Sonar. I'm biased, but for shameless fun, Miami will always win out over LA. The trio is promoting new album "Glazin.'" The show is free.

Memoryhouse, Toronto's answer to our Beach House, this duo specialize in ambient pop. They'll open for Chairlift Sunday at Sonar. Tickets, at $10, are already on sale. New EP: "The Years."

Purity Ring, an electronic duo, Corin Roddick and Megan James have exceeded Tumblr-band status to snag a slot opening for mega-buzzband Neon Indian on tour. They'll be at the Black Cat November 9. Tickets, at $10, are on sale. New album: "Belispeak."

Zola Jesus, nihilistic, spacey electro-pop anchored by the commanding voice of Nika Roza Danilova, a trained opera singer. She'll play Ottobar Saturday in support of new album "Conatus." $12.
