Gino's Burgers & Chicken is expanding into Aberdeen and Glen Burnie.
The Aegis reports that a franchise location of the revived burger franchise will open this fall in Aberdeen at the new Corner at Beards Hill shopping center, currently under construction. Additional locations planned for Abingdon and Fallston are tentatively set to open in 2013.
The Gino's corporate website lists the Glen Burnie location at 7598 Ritchie Highway.
Established under the name Gino's in 1959 and named for its co-founder, the Baltimore Colt Hall of Fame defensive end Gino Marchetti, the restaurant franchise moved its headquarters to King of Prussia, Pa., before being purchased by the Marriott Corp. The last of the original Gino's closed in 1991.
The chain was revived by a group of former Gino's executives as Gino's Burgers & Chicken. The first store opened in November 2011 in King of Prussia.
The Aberdeen location, according to the Aegis, will be comparable in size to the Gino's in Towson, which was the first Maryland location for the new franchise.
