Contradicting an earlier post, the Ravens reported that defensive tackle Haloti Ngata did indeed participate in Thursday’s practice. The four-time Pro Bowler, who has been bothered by an injured knee, was limited for the second straight day.
Fullback Vonta Leach was the only player to sit out Thursday’s session. The three-time Pro Bowl has been hampered by a sprained right ankle suffered in the first quarter of last Sunday’s 23-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Aside from Leach, the same players who participated on a limited basis Wednesday were limited again Thursday. They were guards Marshal Yanda (sprained right ankle) and Jah Reid (toe), running backs Bernard Pierce (ankle) and Anthony Allen (head), strong safety Bernard Pollard (ribs), defensive end Pernell McPhee (thigh), wide receiver Tandon Doss (ankle), cornerback Chris Johnson (thigh) and tight end Billy Bajema (concussion).
Ten players who fully participated for the second consecutive day. They were inside linebackers Ray Lewis (torn right triceps) and Dannell Ellerbe (sprained right ankle), outside linebackers Terrell Suggs (torn right biceps) and Albert McClellan (shoulder/thigh), wide receivers Anquan Boldin (bruised left shoulder) and Torrey Smith (knee), free safety Ed Reed (shoulder), right tackle Kelechi Osemele (knee), defensive end Arthur Jones (thigh) and cornerback Jimmy Smith (sports hernia).
For the Indianapolis Colts, the Ravens’ opponent this Sunday, outside linebacker Dwight Freeney was removed from the injury report after sitting out Wednesday’s session due to non-injury reasons. Outside linebacker Robert Mathis did not practice, but his absence was also related to non-injury reasons. Starting left guard Joe Reitz (concussion) did not practice for the second straight day.
Four starters were upgraded from limited participation Wednesday to full practice Thursday. They were nose tackle Antonio Johnson (ankle), right tackle Winston Justice (shoulder), defensive end Cory Redding (quad) and strong safety Tom Zbikowski (knee).
Three other starters fully participated for the second consecutive day. They were inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman (thumb), rookie quarterback Andrew Luck (knee) and center Samson Satele (ankle).Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
