Maryland jobs

Job estimates for Maryland show big gains in early 2012 and losses in March and April, but economists warn that both extremes could be overstated. The U.S. Department of Labor adjusts the job figures to try to account for normal seasonal patterns in hiring and layoffs, but the unusually warm winter prompted early hiring in fields such as construction. (Numbers are preliminary, seasonally adjusted.)
