The Maryland Jockey Club unveiled a new logo Wednesday for Laurel Park Race Course.

"The abstract horse represents the future of racing-respecting where we have been and looking forward to where we are going," Maryland Jockey Club President Tom Chuckas said.

In addition to replacing the old logo, which the Maryland Jockey Club said was designed almost 20 years ago, they announced changes to the 2012 fall meeting at the racetrack.

Two additional Maryland-bred stakes -- the Geisha Stakes (Nov. 22) and the Jennings Handicap (Dec. 1) were added to the fall schedule, which begins Sept. 5.

Other revisions to the fall schedule include:

• Jameela Stakes moved from Sept. 15 to Sept. 5

• All Brandy Stakes transferred from Sept. 8 to Sept. 15

• Lady Dean Stakes will remain Safely Kept Stakes

• Purses for the Maryland-bred stakes will be $100,000 each

The Maryland Horse Breeders Association will provide $25,000 to $50,000 bonuses for Maryland-bred runners in 16 races, meaning the 34 fall stakes could be worth more than $4.1 million, according to the Maryland Jockey Club.
