True freshman Perry Hills will be the starter when the Terps host William & Mary in Saturday's opener.
Hills, who was a quarterback and state champion wrestler at his western Pennsylvania high school, is being instructed to understand his limitations and not try to do too much, too soon.

Of course, it will help immensely if Maryland can get its running game going. The running game may well feature three backs on Saturday who, like Hills, have never played in a college game: Brandon Ross, Albert Reid and Wes Brown. Sophomore Justus Pickett may also be in the mix. The offensive line has also been reconfigured since last season.
