The light rail is great... if you want to go to a ball game, or maybe the airport. Just budget some time, because in the city, you can walk faster than the light rail. It stops at every red light on Howard Street, and light rail cars are frequently full before/after games. Some people have never heard of Baltimore's subway line, which runs from Owings Mills to Johns Hopkins Hospital. If you don't have a car, though, it can be quick way to get from Lexington Market to Mondawmin Mall. Recently, the city launched a system of free circulator buses, which are a great way to get around. But yeah, Baltimore's public transportation system could use some love.
