During the offseason in 2010, Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday was asked by the NFL Network to rank the top five defensive tackles. At the top of his list was the Ravens’ Haloti Ngata.
“I think Haloti could play free safety,” Saturday said in July. “He’s got that kind of athletic ability.”
Ngata returned the favor after Sunday’s 24-10 victory over Indianapolis, praising Saturday’s prowess in his 13th year in the NFL.
“He’s definitely a veteran guy that you have to be careful of,” Ngata said. “He’s so quick, and he’s smaller-sized, so he’s able to go side-to-side, and he’s really good at doing that. He’s tricky – all of a sudden he’ll swim-move you and get to the second level. You just have to be really careful with veteran centers like that. They’re smart, and they know who they are playing against. He does a really good job for them.”Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
