The acquisition of Navarro is a strong signal that the Orioles will non-tender infielder Omar Quintanilla.
The Dominican-born Navarro owns a .279/.350/.437 hitting line over six minor league seasons. He played 29 games for the Pirates last season, hitting .160/.232/.220.
He came up through the minors primarily playing shortstop, but he played 35 games at third base last season. He also played second base, first base and right field in 2012.
The Orioles will be Navarro's fourth organization since 2010. He was part of the trade that sent shortstop
