Add Orioles centerfielder and $85.5-million-dollar-man Adam Jones to the growing list of Baltimore players on manager Buck Showalter's infirmary report.
Jones took a Brandon Morrow fastball to his left wrist in the sixth inning of the Orioles' 4-1 loss to the Blue Jays, immediately falling to his knees grabbing his wrist in pain.
For a team already with seven players on the disabled list and rightfielder Nick Markakis going to have an MRI on his injured right wrist this morning, the Orioles have been the walking wounded.
Jones, who was wearing a melon-sized wrap around his wrist after the game, shrugged off the injury, saying he will be in the starting lineup for Friday's game at Tampa Bay.
"Nothing that's going to keep me out, so it doesn't matter," Jones said. "It's a hit by pitch."
Showalter said Jones would likely get X-rays taken. When asked about that, Jones said there would be no need.
"We'll see," Showalter said. "He's sore. We'll see. [We'll] probably get a picture before we leave. He's tough as nails though. He's probably not going to tell you a whole lot until Friday."
