Erik Lerch, 10 (left), and Don Lotz, 13, work on a floral design as part of a Portraits of Hope project. The boys, along with other patients at Johns Hopkins Children's Center as well as with hospitalized children across the United States, are participating in an art therapy project to commemorate the centennial of flight. The art, painted on adhesive panels, will cover an airplane, which will be put on display at Kitty Hawk, N.C., where the Wright brothers flew the first air plane Dec. 17, 1903.
