1. 'VALHELLA: The Ragnarøkkoperetta'

If the Baltimore Rock Opera Society's third original opera is, as they bill it, "the first sign of the apocalypse," we're totally on board. Why? Could be that it's a Norse-inspired tale paired with a face-melting metal soundtrack. Or it's the inspired way BROS tells stories (expect huge puppets, hand-drawn animated and stark, inventive fantasy sets). We've never been more excited to journey to the "bowel-churning depths of hell." 8 p.m. Friday through May 20. The Autograph Playhouse, 9 W. 25th St., Charles Village. $17. baltimorerockopera.org
