Raven Torrey Smith made the day of one of Baltimore's needy dogs when he adopted an impossibly cute puppy Wednesday afternoon.
Smith, a well-known dog lover who embraces his pit bull Prince on billboards for the "Show Your Soft Side" campaign against animal abuse, adopted his puppy from the Baltimore Animal Care and Rescue Shelter, which just happens to sit in the shadow of M&T Bank Stadium.
He chose a black and white one with a bandit eye patch, a very tiny puppy that looks to be a pit mix.
"It's official," he Tweeted late Wednesday. "We have adopted 'Mama.'"
A bit earlier he Tweeted a picture of Mama, saying he was thinking about bringing her into his family. Fans immediately went wild. "You have to!" one Tweeted. Another simply wrote: "AWWWW omg do it do it do it."
BARCS also posted a congratulations to Smith on their Facebook page, showing him grinning with Mama and the shelter's executive director.
By the way, if you can't get enough tough guys who love animals, you might want to hit Pawject Runway tonight at Bay Cafe. The fashion show that benefits BARCS Franky Fund will feature some of the "Soft Side" campaign celebs walking adoptable animals in outfits down the catwalk.
